In the animated open, the illustration that draws and paints on the cover page is a replicated art from the original Hamzanama painting credited to the artist Dasavanta and Shravanaof the Mughal Dynasty, India circa 1570.
"The Hamzanama chronicles the fantastic adventures of Hamza as he and his band of heroes fight against the enemies of Islam. The stories, from a long-established oral tradition, were written down in Persian, the language of the court, in multiple volumes."*
The Art was recreated in Photoshop. Different stages of the illustration process were carefully planned and saved to ensure flexibility during the blooming effect of the figures on the page. This effect was done in After Effects. The rendered effect was mapped onto the CG page in Maya and timed to the camera move that slowly examines the page.
